When you trust in Jesus, you begin a new life as a new creation. The key to this life is to abide in Jesus!  Connect with God by being in His word, praying to Him and connecting with other people who also want to abide in Jesus.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5 ESV

CONNECT

"There is an obstacle"

There is an obstacle, for we disobeyed God and broke off the relationship.  The Bible calls our rebellion against God, "sin". Our sin has separated all of us from God (Isa 59:2) and we can do nothing about it (Rom 3:23).  In this condition, each of us will die separated from God for all eternity in hell.  This eternal death is real and the just payment of sin. (Rom 6:23)

"a solution was provided"

Thankfully, a solution was provided, as God intervened.  He sent Jesus to save us (Lk 19:10), to be the way to reconnect with Him.  Jesus did this by dying in our place, on a cross (Col 1:19-20) and rising from the dead.  Now God offers us the opportunity of a right relationship with Him and life (Col 2:13) that will last forever
(I Jn 5:11-13)

"This is a free gift"

This is a free gift to any who will put their faith in Jesus (Eph 2:8).  You start by agreeing that you have sinned and need to be saved.  Then, you trust in Jesus to save you and to be in charge of your life.

Once you trust in Jesus, you begin a new life as a new creation.  The key to living this life is to "abide" in Jesus, like a branch in a vine.  Then you will produce much fruit.  Such abiding requires a devotion to continually be in God's Word, prayer, fellowship with other Christians, and service to God.  Be connected!

GROW

We are called to “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord…” and God has given us the church as a  way to do that.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen

2 Peter 3:18 ESV

"get face to face"

To give and receive the personal help and encouragement needed, we have to get face to face with each other.  Consider "planting" yourself in a weekly "Grow"(small) group.

SERVE

God has designed each of His children in specific ways to serve.  How has God enabled you for serving His church?  The best way to discover that answer is to just start serving.  We have all different areas that you can serve in at our church.  From children to young adults.  From tech ministry to our food pantry team.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace

1 Peter 4:10 ESV

Our service to one another is more crucial all the time because the end of all things is at hand..
1 Peter 4:7
It is of the highest importance that we do it in love, really caring for one another, showing hospitality
1 Peter 4:8-9  God's grace comes to us in varied forms, and it comes to others through the conduit of your life.

"because the end of all things is at hand""

REACH

As Jesus followers, we have a mission to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus!  This work requires building bridges of love and good works to the world.  The goal is to represent Jesus well.  As a church family we really want to try and reach every chance we get.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Acts 1:8 ESV

"the goal... is to represent Jesus well"

As bearers of Jesus name we will be his witnesses, but the goal of our mission is to represent Jesus well by living as he has told us to.  This requires us to be authentic and deliberate.  To be effective in our mission, we also have to have compassion on the lost and be willing to give of ourselves.

"always be prepared to make a defense"

We are told in 1 Peter 3:15, to always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for the reason for the hope that is in you.  There are three parts to this.  First, people need to see that we have hope.  Second, we need to be prepared.  Third, we need to speak up when God gives us the opportunity.

This is both your personal mission  and the mission of your church community.  Following are ongoing ways you can join with your church family to reach the world.  Contact the church office to get started.
* Participate in a BBC outreach ministry such as the Food Pantry/Closet, Mountain Lakes Bible Camp, Crosspoint School and the Reach Team.
* Pray for our missionaries and/or adopt a missionary
* Contribute to the BBC outreaches that we do every other month.
